The big charity sing-along
The voices resounded loud and clear: “We are the rebels of hope – oh-oh-oh!” As part of their latest joint campaign, AEB partnered with ARTHELPS to proclaim a song of hope. Voices chimed in from Hamburg and Stuttgart to Manila and Singapore, backed up by the one and only AEB band.
The video from the event shows how important and invaluable it is when people come together – and how special it is when we join in song. Art and creativity can build bridges. Thanks to everyone who was there – and keep raising your voices!
That was and is the idea behind “Rebels of Hope,” the song written especially for the campaign and inspired by the RESISTRUMENTS – those musical instruments made from the weapons and wreckage of war that our friends at the non-governmental arts organization ARTHELPS created together with musicians and young people in Ukraine.
The song has even inspired a workshop – the School of Hope – that helps children and adolescents discover their own sources of hope and create wonderful works of art with simple tape, expressing the feelings and emotions they’ve often buried or locked away.
We’re still gathering voices for the background choir, the RESISTRUMENTS are still being played enthusiastically – and who knows, maybe we'll soon be calling on everyone to sing along again.
A big thank you to everyone who pitched in, sang along, and donated.
This is the project that caught our attention: In October 2023, an ARTHELPS team led by founder Tom Lupo worked with young people in Ukraine to create “beauty from wreckage.” Made from war scrap and rubble from bombed-out buildings, gathered near the front lines. The result was three RESISTRUMENTS.

The ARTHELPS Shop offers stunning photos of the instruments in poster format, with proceeds supporting the Creative Hub project (UNHIDE UKRAINE).
