If you have the required authorization, the software will even process your monthly periodic entries. Also included: the Intrastat report.

Can EMCS Filing help me during system outages, when electronic messaging with the customs authorities is not possible?

Yes, the software supports each country’s national fallback procedure specifications. It lets you create the necessary fallback document directly in the customs declaration using the data already available, then submit it electronically when the system is back online.

How can I be notified as soon as key events relating to my EMCS transactions occur (receipt of e-AD, warning/rejection before receipt, receipt of EMCS discharges, etc.)?

Each EMCS transaction in EMCS Filing is updated as soon as a customs message is sent or received: The name of the status changes, and a progress bar visualizes this. You also have the option to have proactive email alerts sent to yourself or others about key events.

Is any extra work involved in setting up the electronic data exchange with customs authorities?

If you are using EMCS Filing as an AEB data center solution, there’s nothing you need to do. EMCS Filing has been certified, and the electronic communication is already in place.
