What our employees love about AEB:

Our features

Your path to AEB: the application process

Dein Weg zu uns: der Bewerbungsprozess
Dein Weg zu uns: der Bewerbungsprozess

Step 1:

The spark

The first spark has been ignited. You + AEB = possible match. Send us your application, and together we’ll find out whether we’re a good match.

Step 2:

Could this work?

Our recruiters and specialists from the relevant departments will look at your application. Finding a personal connection is more important here than finding the perfect profile. We look at each applicant to determine which team or field of work might be the best fit.

Step 3:

First contact

The first meet-and-greet can be by video or on site, with two or three employees from the relevant departments. This first conversation is all about your questions, our questions, insights into the world of AEB, what the work is like, and anything else that’s on your mind.

Step 4:

On-site visit

If everyone agrees after the first conversation that the basics match, we’ll invite you on site to take a look around. Here we can get to know each other better and work together on solving a work-related task. You’ll gain better insight into our work environment and meet your team or community.

Step 5:

The decision

We’ll take a couple of nights to sleep on it and reflect on what we learned from our conversations and your visit. Then we’ll know if you’re a good fit for the team. And you’ll know if you want to be part of AEB.

Just to be up front about it: It goes without saying that our getting-to-know-you process may vary a bit depending on the location and team.

"The gold standard in appreciative, professional, friendly interaction. The application process here is not a one-way street, it’s a respectful conversation between peers in which applicants get honest, transparent answers to their questions."

Questions? We’ve got answers.

Who takes part in job interviews?

At the first interview, two or three of your future colleagues from the relevant department are usually present. If things continue to an on-site visit, you’ll meet the rest of your potential team and a representative from the Board of Directors.

What are the main things you look for in applications?

Besides the traditional résumé, we’re looking for anything that gives us more insight into you. Sometimes that means letters of reference, since they show us what you’ve already achieved in the field. Sometimes that means a cover letter or video of you telling us who you are and what you’re looking for. There are no limits to your creativity.

Can I get to know AEB before I apply?

Sure! Just get in touch with us through the Contact page, schedule a virtual coffee, or connect with one of us on Xing or LinkedIn.

What is the onboarding process?

Even before you start, you’ll be in close contact with your future community or team. You’ll also be welcome to attend any team events or celebrations. Your first day of work then begins at your respective location together with your tutor and colleagues. An in-depth “jump in” onboarding week is combined with ongoing training to help you learn your new job. Reviews and opportunities for self-reflection will accompany your first six months. Very important: There is always room for your feedback!

Can I apply even if I don’t fulfill all the requirements for a position?

Of course. A job description always has wiggle room. Once we get to know you, we can decide if you’re a good fit for this position or if another seems more appropriate – now or further down the road. And who knows, your open application might give us an idea for our next big project!

Is it okay if I have a gap in my résumé?

To be honest, we don’t see gaps. One is always doing something, so feel free to share that something with us. All your experiences make up who you are – your personality and strengths. We love life stories! And we’re ready to hear yours.
